Educational and training games: who buys them?

By 9th House Games ·

On Freelancer in 60 days, 12 of 56 closed projects asking for a new educational, kids, health or training game were hired, 21%, against 12% for new games overall (52 of 428). We have no sourced price for these games, so this page lists what those clients asked to spend and says nothing about what a studio would charge.

The twelve that were hired

These are the hired projects in that group between 27 August and 26 October 2026. The budget is the top budget on the post, in US dollars.

Reading the list

Four clients were in the US and four in India, with one each in the UK, Saudi Arabia, Germany and Australia. The subjects split into health and mental health (two), children's learning and play (three), and simulation or training (the industrial safety project and the stock market app). The rest are loose matches. A face model, a drag-strip scene and an ideas-only job landed in this group because of words in their descriptions, and we left them in rather than pick the list to look better.

Anyone who wants to know who buys these games at scale, such as schools, training departments or health groups, will not find it here. Freelancer shows individual clients posting small jobs. It does not show institutions buying finished products.

Caveats

Twelve projects is a small count and a swing of a few would change the rate. The genre rule is keywords over the title and description. Budgets are what clients asked for, not what was paid, and direct hires and repeat clients are included. The 12 of 56 is one slice of a larger count; the same data for all 853 projects is on the hiring page.

We make no price claim for finished educational games. If you have a source for one, we will add it with the link.
